Executive Director

Debbie Reed has been working at Joy in Learning for over 35 years. Starting as an aide at the age of 16, she became a teacher after completing her degree. She has previously held the position of classroom teacher, assistant center director, center director and is now the Executive Director overseeing each Joy in Learning location. Debbie grew up in Severn, Maryland and now lives on the Eastern Shore where she enjoys boating and spending time with her husband and two children.

Marie Hall grew up in Prince George's County and transferred to Calvert County in high school where she still resides today. She started in child care at the age of 16. She enjoyed working with children so much that Marie studied early childhood education in college becoming a teacher and eventually a center director at Joy in Learning. She loves being a part of the growth and development of the children she works with. Outside of work, Marie enjoys reading, gardening and rooting for the Washington Commanders and Capitals. She has worked at Joy in Learning for over 17 years. 

Rosemary Hawley grew up in Glasgow, Scotland moving to the United States in 2000. She has known since high school that she wanted to work with children and studied early childhood education in college. Rosemary loves seeing children learn new things and watching them apply their learning in new situations. Rosemary is also a huge Ravens fan and loves watching them on football Sundays. She started working at Joy in Learning in 2002 and has been at Marley Park for over 20 years.

Sabirina Hirst grew up in Kensington, Maryland. She has been around child care for much of her life as her mother had an in-home daycare business. In high school, Sabrina began her first job in childcare and worked to get her certifications. She loves watching kids learn and explore new things and seeing the joy children show in a positive environment. Sabrina also loves hiking and enjoying nature especially in the spring and fall. She has been with Joy in Learning for seven years.
