About Joy in Learning

Our Mission

It is the purpose of the Joy In Learning Child Care Centers to enhance the total growth and development of every child—embracing and supporting all abilities, learning styles, and developmental stages— in a welcoming, developmentally appropriate environment. We provide rich opportunities children to interact with their peers, balancing child-initiated exploration with teacher-directed activities. Through both general and specific techniques of enrichment our program is designed to:

  1. Promote physical growth and coordination tailored to each child’s unique physical abilities (e.g., active play, motor skills, movement, and spatial awareness).
  2. Encourage emotional development (e.g., expressiveness, self-regulation, acceptance, positive discipline).
  3. Enhance social competence and a sense of belonging (e.g., consideration for others, cooperation, diverse ways of communicating, and relating to adults as well as peers).
  4. Provide opportunities for cognitive learning through multi-sensory and adaptable pathways (e.g., ideas, words, colors, numbers, problem-solving).

The objectives of the Joy In Learning Child Care Centers are to:

  1. Demonstrate, through example, opportunity and informal conversation the Joy inherent In all Learning.
  2. Provide an atmosphere of respect and caring for young children and each other. The ultimate goal is to enhance the child’s self-esteem while facilitating their potential for optimal personal development.
  3. Schedule a balanced day of activity, rest, nourishment, and creative involvement that respects individual paces and needs.
  4. Supply accessible, diverse, and adaptive materials and equipment conducive to learning about self, family, community, environment, math and science, music and art, literature, and architecture.

At Joy In Learning, we believe that our centers will serve as a vital support for the family. Our role is to enhance and expand the parent’s relationship with the child through a program rich in inclusion, belonging, encouragement, and acceptance.

Our History

Founded in 1984, Joy In Learning has been providing high quality childcare for over 40 years. Joy In Learning is under new ownership as of February 2025, but still has the same goals and objectives.
