Our Whispering Woods location has four rooms. Our Koalas room is for children 18 months to 2 years of age. Our Cubs room is for children 2-3 years of age. Our Bears room is for children ages 4-5, and our Grizzly room is for school age children and offers both a before and after school program along with a summer program. Both the Cubs and Bears have an MSDE approved curriculum.  

We are open from 6:30AM to 6:00PM each weekday. We are closed on major holidays.

Joy in Learning accepts CCS Scholarships and Child Care Aware. 

We use Experience Curriculum, a certified educational program for our Cubs (ages 2-3) and Frog Street, an MSDE certified Pre-K program for our Bears (age 4-5). Our before and after school program (Grizzlies) incorporates enrichment activities for school age children. 

A typical day consists of the following:

 - Open play

- Circle time

- Snack time (twice in a day)

- Outside play (twice in a day)

- Arts & Crafts 

- Lunch

- Naptime

All parents of Koalas, Cubs, and Bears, will need to provide a lunch, a change of clothes, and bedding which consists of a fitted sheet and blanket to be used during naptime. Parents of children who are not yet potty trained are expected to provide diapers and wipes.

All of our teachers are specially trained and certified to work with their specific age groups. Additionally, all staff are CPR and first aid certified. Every year, all staff complete additional trainings to keep up with the newest trends and philosophies of child care.    

We take food and other allergies very seriously. We are currently NOT a peanut-free program. 

Joy in Learning uses Brightwheel, a preschool and daycare specific online application. The app allows us to communicate directly with parents about upcoming events, day-to-day updates, and our monthly newsletter. Parents also are billed through Brightwheel.
